The Holy Grail

We did it!  The World’s Toughest Half Marathon!  We are Point to Pinnacle finishers along with all our beautiful Running Group friends.  Today we all conquered the mountain.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect.  It was a huge grunt up that mountain but I spent way more time smiling than grimacing.  Once I got to the 10km mark the fear of not making it to the end in the dreaded time limit disappeared.

It will go down in my memory as one of the most amazing days of my life.

Husband crossed the line in 02:33:00 and me in 02:52:19. I’m so proud of my Husband Pauly!!!

We did it. We made it!

Thank you so much to everyone who has cheered us on in this huge endeavour.

If the Unsporty Woman can finish the world’s toughest half marathon… anyone can!!!

Thank you so much everyone!!! Your support has been amazing… I even met a blog follower as I was walking into the after event function… a lovely young man called Daniel happened to be walking past and he said Hello, I follow your blog, thanks for the inspiration.  I’d already cried a lot of tears… I cried some more after that.  It’s lovely and humbling to know that someone had drawn inspiration from my quest for the Holy Running Grail.  Thanks Daniel from Canada and very well done on an awesome time and becoming a P2P finisher.  This has made my day even more special!

More details to come…

Happy running 🙂

PS my beautiful running friend gave me a gift with a special message.. it says… If you dream it you can achieve it.  I’m completely humbled by the gift and by the words in the card.  I’m so glad you ran up that mountain too, you are an inspiration to me!!! And a very beautiful soul too.  It is a joy to call you my friend.  At the end of the message in the card she asks Next Challenge pleaseCadbury half is the answer, it would be lovely to have your company 🙂
