It’s all about the carbs

and the wine.  It’s all about the carbs and the wine.

Two sleeps until it’s time take on the mountain for a second time.  As I type I’m tucked up at Wrest Point Casino after a day of anxiety, travel and carbs.

Anxiety?  Today was the day that my house was to settle but alas it didn’t happen.  It will happen next week.  To say this sale hasn’t been text book is a complete understatement.  Fortunately I’ve learnt how to shelve problems that can’t be immediately solved.  I’ve left this problem at Oatlands (a little town half way between Hobart and Launceston) and will collect it on Monday on my way home.  Breathe out anxiety breath in calm.  I often feel anxious but I know it won’t solve anything so I quickly throw it out the window and try to find a positive.

Travel?  Apart from making our way to Hobart from the farm I also collected Pauly from the airport today after a short trip to NZ to see his Dad.  We are both tired.  It’s good to be settled in the Casino.  Tomorrow will be a day of pure relaxation.  A nice sleepin followed by a gentle day of not too much before the official Point to Pinnacle dinner.

Carbs?  Me and food have done some serious business as has me and H2O.  Oh my goodness.  I have tucked away HUGE calories!  Here are a few examples…

Pauly's half eaten lunch. He's on the high fat low carb diet (another story in itself).

Mt Wellington by night  – just a bit of a hill, we can do that!  I have no choice but to try!  How else am I going to burn off all these extra calories???

Where ever you are running this weekend my biggest wish to you is that you will find joy and happiness in your run.  I said to Pauly on the way down in the car (after ditching my anxiety in Oatlands) that if I can run as happy a P2P as last year that I will feel like the biggest winner ever.  I hope your running makes you feel like a winner this weekend.

Happy running 🙂

Pauly and I always seem to get the lucky numbers! Or maybe we just make them lucky because we want them to be :)

  1. Woo hoo – bring on the mountain!!!!! You’ll burn off those chippies and wine, no dramas …. and then we’ll celebrate afterwards by adding more – hehe.

  2. What a gorgeous photo of you Annie. Best wishes for the run and it looks like you have the right routine down. Enjoy and happy running as you say. 🙂

  3. How on earth did you eat all that food! I was so full of liquid I had trouble eating all my dinner last night. I’m so excited can’t wait to take on that mountain. Happy resting see you later today 🙂 xo

  4. Good luck for tomorrow, you’re going to love the mountain even more this year because you know you can do it!
PS That’s a lot of food for a little lady, where did you put it all 😉
