Sole sisters

Today’s run was all about making the distance. For some of us we hadn’t run that far in quite a while and the hope was just to make it. For others of us it was a training run to keep our kms up so we’d be ready for our next running goal.

Coach designed a really interesting course that wove in and around Launceston. Lots of flats, some wonderful zooms down declines and just enough inclines to keep us honest. Two laps of the course would make 18kms.

Coach comes up with quirky names for our runs. This one started and finished at St George's Square. He called it 'It's Hip to be St George's Square' of course!

I was undecided about what distance I’d do. We set off at a fantastic pace – my favourite pace, happy pace! We chatted. We laughed. We learnt some interesting secrets. We got a glimpse into each other’s lives while out on the run. How come running opens us up so much? Is running together the key to truly discovering who we are? I think so. Running together gives us an intimate window into the very heart of our companions.  As women it binds us together in friendship simply by being out there and moving forwards in running steps.

We encouraged each other all the way. When one was tired someone was able to say the right things to pep us up and spur us on. It was one of those golden runs to be thankful for.

?????????????

Thanks Ladies of The Running Group, sole sisters and true angels. Loved our run this morning.

Happy running 🙂
