Staying in town

We’ve moved into Launceston ready for the impending Nuptial. It looks like we’ve moved in permanently. I even have my big old sewing box and sewing machine (just in case there is a wardrobe emergency).

With interstate and overseas family arriving and departing over the next week we needed a base that was homey and comfortable. A hotel room or unit just wasn’t going to cut it.

Bring on Stayz. Louise introduced me to Stayz when we were hunting down some running event accommodation earlier in the year. After an initial look around the Stayz web site for Launceston accommodation West Tamar House stood out immediately. It’s simply gorgeous and the perfect location for a Bride and her family to get ready for the big day.

The owners of this lovely renovated home have been nothing but gracious and helpful. It’s like they are old friends and they are happy to help out with anything that will make our stay comfortable.

As for cost? It’s been the best option for putting up all the family, way nicer and less $ than staying in hotels. Unbelievable.

We are only 300m from here – The beautiful Cataract Gorge, a must visit when in Northern Tasmania (and only 500m from Launceston’s famous Stillwater restaurant).

I highly recommend West Tamar House as the perfect oasis for a Launceston stay. And as for moving back to the farm? Do I really have to?

I do have to, but not now.  We’re off for a run, a swim and then the first of three airport pick-ups scheduled for today.  I was a little (understatement) stressed, but now that we are all settled into this beautiful home I’m just plain old exciting.  I pick up Son#1 who I haven’t seen since January today.  Blondie daughter #1, my lovely Sister and Brother-in-law from NZ also arrive today.  Our newest family member the handsome J (boyfriend of Blondie daughter #1) arrives tomorrow.  Oh and there’s something else…it’s my 51st birthday tomorrow AND the Wedding is on Saturday!  Excited?  Now there is an understatement.  Better get that run in to keep me grounded and calm.

Happy running 🙂

I can’t go anywhere without my friends pictured above, but I didn’t need to bring them, there is everything here AND the place is immaculate!  Please tell me I’m not the only person who packs spray’n wipe (ok, I probably am).

What’s not to love about a place where I can cook the Husband his favourite thick-cut bacon?
